So I know you say you forgive me, and maybe you really do, but I feel still feel so bad!! I was so full of it in 5th grade, and I know I should have treated you better because you were all such amazing friends :)

Letter #12: The person who caused you a lot of pain

Dear Jalyn,

It's crazy to think we were inseperable, and then out of nowhere, something really small turned into something huge, and soon you were telling me that your sister said you couldn't hang out with me. Really?? Is she your mom?

All I can say is that I'm kind of grateful that happened. Not that having to go to school every day with absolutely no friends was fun, but I found out who my real friends were. And I probably wouldn't have met Daysia, and no offense, but if I had stayed friends with you, and looking at you now... I have no idea where I'd be.

I know we're not really friends now, but I'm glad that we've both moved on, and that you don't glare at me anymore. Can't wait to see you at school!

Letter #11: A Deceased Person You Wish You Could Talk To

Dear Great-Grandpa,


First of all, I just want to say that I feel so lucky I even got to know you at all. You've done so much for everyone. Me, your family, your community, your country. I can't even tell you how many 100% history assignments I've gotten all because of you and the service you have done this country.


I don't think I've ever cried from sadness and happiness as much as I did when you died. Your blonde jokes that were shared. The competition of who was the favorite child, grandchild, great-grandchild (I win in that category!) when we all knew that you loved us all the same. And it is more love than anyone else has ever shared. When I saw the picture that you had of me in your wallet, I broke down and cried the rest of the day away. And every time Grandma tells me the story of how you jumped up and down like a little kid when you found out I was a girl still makes me laugh until I cry. Mostly because you were in your seventies when I was born, and that kind of energy is something everyone counted on you to have. Running out the door when we pulled into the driveway, jumping out of an airplane when you were 50 just to prove you could do it, the stories go on and on.


I truly am grateful for the blessings you gave us while you were here, and I can't wait to see you again. I love you and miss you more than you know.

Letter #10: Someone You Don't Talk To As Much As You'd Like To

Dear Abby,

It really stinks that pretty much the only time I get to see you is twice a year at girl's camp or certification, or occasionally in the hallway at church. But I do know that when we're together at camp, I'm always having SO much fun!!

Sometimes I get jealous of this crazy, awesome energy that you always have. I've never, ever seen you looking bored, or tired, or mad, or sad and I wish I could be more that way. It makes everyone want to be around you, and I swear it's contagious because every time I'm with you, I feel just a little more tempted to go do something insane and crazy and fun!!

There are times I just sit and think about how my life would be if you were here. Would Matthew have been born? Would I already be an aunt right now? Would you be the best big sister I could ask for? Would I have shared a room with you my whole life? It really stinks to think that I'll never know. God must have really wanted you up in Heaven with Him to take you back so soon after you were here.

How is it in Heaven? I can only imagine... I have to say I'm jealous you get to hang out with Great-Grandpa all day. I'm sure you've heard all of his blonde jokes by now. Man, I really didn't want to cry writing this, oh well...

I honestly just sit there sometimes and try to figure out how you get your blog to be so awesome, without even trying. Whenever you post some new awesome picture that you've edited I just think DANG! How does she do that?? I really hope that I can someday have 120 followers like you do. I'm sure it will take a lot of work... Like I said I still have no idea how you got that to happen.

So unfortunately we probably will never meet, mostly because you live at the other side of the country. I have been to Chicago once... and to tell you the truth I did NOT like it. There were so many homeless people that made me sad and it always smelt like tires, I guess that's just the country girl in me :)

Letter #1: Your Best Friend

Dear Daysia,

I can't believe it's been almost three years already. The way we met is kind of hilarious, at least we have one thing to thank Mrs. Byers for! I have to say our project in that class topped everyone else's, and I still have the video :)

I have so many things to thank you for.. 6th grade sucked, and after feeling like I had absolutely no friends, we got partnered up for that crazy science project, and you've been my best friend ever since. I love you so much for that and I hope that I'll be the same kind of friend to you that you've been for me.

I'm so psyched that your grandparents moved in so close to me! Hopefully we'll get to ride a lot. Oh and by the way I saw Tanya last night at Macayo's! She was our waitress :) I almost did the menu thing but I didn't think she'd remember...

We really need to start on that book of stupid things that we've done, because it will be the best book ever written. It will probably also be the longest book ever written because we have done so many stupid things :) But I'm so happy that I did those things with you... and I look forward to doing even more stupid things for many, many years!
